I was born in Michigan, lived my younger years in Sudbury, Ontario, and finished high school in northern Pennsylvania.  No, my father was not in the military, but we moved from university to university where my father taught English with military precision.  I attended the University of Virginia (The University, please) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English.  After a short stint at graduate school at Penn State, I opted to leave and marry.  We lived first in Richmond, then Alexandria and settled in McLean.  It was in Virginia that I raised my three children.  During this time my husband fell in love with sailing, so for over 30 years we have been trying to find our way onto boats.  Now we live in Annapolis, MD where we can sail every weekend.  At some point, hopefully in the not too distant future, we will set sail and live aboard our three bedroom, two bath floating apartment while we cruise the world.  Other than writing, I also enjoy tennis, transforming old videos of family activities and vacations into homemade movies and Christmas!
